In the early morning hours of June 28th, a call came across the scanner that sent almost every department across the city into a frenzy. The initial call was a “shots fired” in the vicinity of legion square, however it quickly escalated.
Upon arrival on the scene Weazel News reporter Kennie Sebastian, who was first on the scene immediately had to evacuate and take cover due to multiple shots being fired at the general public. Once out of harms way, he radioed in to headquarters requesting the Weazel News helicopter for an additional view on the situation that was unfolding.
Once the Weazel News had an ‘eye in the sky’ we quickly analyzed the scene as well as a possible escape route for our reporter on the ground. After a few moments of uncertainty, the news team was reunited with the reporter and assessed the issues the law enforcement was now attempting to get under control.
Along with the multiple shots fired upon civilians as well as the law enforcement, Multiple hostages were taken by four heavily armed masked men who were now occupying a nearby rooftop. The law enforcement attempted to make contact with the armed terrorists to understand what they were hoping to accomplish in this attack. Which the motive was unknown, however they did have a single demand for the police, “Hand over your weapons!” Fortunately, the police department did not comply with their request.

Immediately following the police contact, one of the hostages had apparently got into an argument with one of the armed perpetrators which resulted in a shot to the chest causing the hostage to fall off of the building. Unknown to the armed terrorists, the hostage safely landed on the fire escape a few stories down.
While the terrorists were attempting to keep the law enforcement from reaching them for several hours leading into the evening, the Weazel News pilot was able to switch on the spotlight in an attempt to help the law enforcement which quickly helped in favor of the police. One of our team members also noticed that an unmasked man who was not a member of law enforcement joining the masked men on the roof. We later found out that this man was the hostage that fell to the fire escape. Allegedly, this hostage coxed the terrorists to abandon their post on the rooftop in an attempt to escape.
At which point, the police were able to ambush the perpetrators and make the arrests with no casualties to either side. Although one officer was shot, he is expected to make a full recovery. The alleged hostage who attempted to help the law enforcement wishes to be anonymous said in an interview “Although I was terrified, I’m glad I was able to do my part and help.”

Senior Officer James Pickle is appreciative, but “does not want the general public getting involved” or attempting to help with any emergencies. According to Officer Pickle, the police department was well prepared and had the issue under control.
This city has never seen an attack to this magnitude and city officials are not pleased that this has happened. It is to be expected that many precautions will follow after an incident such as this one that has plagued our city. As expected Weazel News will be there to keep all of our citizens informed.
We would also like to extend a very special “thank you” for your bravery and service to the fine men and women of our city’s law enforcement, as well as, all of our public safety members for the quick response.
